India Project 2015: “A hand to give” In association with “Kannerland” Part of the www.elisabeth.lu group Luxembourg
Please let us introduce you to 2 young boys from an untouched village in Rajasthan (India).

The oldest boy was born on 30.12.2001, and his younger brother was born on 15.07.2004. They sadly lost their dear mother on 15.11.2005 as a result of polio. Neither boy’s have contact with their father as he decided to leave them when their mother became very sick. The brother of their deceased mother agreed to keep them with him, he is nevertheless is a very poor man and is fighting to make ends meet. The boys have therefore systematically become the “boys of the village” an every one is doing their best to cloth and feed the boys, along side providing for their own families.

For the sum of 500 euro per year our project could offer these children a chance of a lifetime. 500 euros would not only pay for them to have a very good education, but it would also pay to supply all their needed school materials and clothe them.

Our project aims not only to help those in India, but it also aims to teach the 3 teenagers involved a lesson for life, teaching them not only about diverse cultures but also that we should never take anything for granted. By seeing how those far less fortunate than ourselves live we hope that those involved in the project will understand that prosperity is a privilege and not an obligation, therefore one should respect and use every chance one gets in life. With our project “A hand to give” we aim to collect the needed 1000 Euro’s by the time we arrive in Delhi on 04.04.2015.We aim to collect the money through diverse activities, e.g. Flea markets, sponsored activities and other forms of sales. We will also be collecting good clothing to donate to these boys and other needy children in the village.

We aim to keep this project running for at least the next 5 years, systematically securing a better future for both the boys mentioned above, alongside promoting the cultural education of those children/teenagers who will be involved each year from Luxembourg.

In April 2015 we went to the school and paid the boys fees for the next school year.

Since the launch of our project in 2014 and with the help of some generous donators we have proudly paid the school fees of 5 village children, supplied 6 children with their needed school materials and clothing and we have also supplied a village with some sports equipment in order to get the kids playing together.

Another project that is close to our hearts is our Anjli. A few years ago I met this little angel in a small village outside of Jaipur, here face was covered in herpes, I gave her some cream and on my return a few days later saw her sweet, grateful smiling face. Until now we have bought school materials and clothing for Anjli. When we get customers from Europe we always send her a little surprise and will continue to support her in the future.

Another project that we have become part of is that of helping towards the welfare on India’s street dogs. Til now we have had 2 dogs operated, 2 sterilized and we have supplied Rabies vaccinations, toys, treats, collars and flea treatment.
